Fate series is a great saga that probably every otaku has heard at some point. Despite knowing how famous it is, many of us stop when we realize that there are 6 different versions with different seasons each. ¿In what order should you watch the Fate series??
All fate series differ from each other, so the story changes; but they all have the power system and goals in common. In these events known as “Holy Grail Wars" where "Masters"invoke"Servants”, where they will be fighting each other until one is left standing, claiming the Holy Grail.

Fate Series Information – In what order to watch the anime
The Fate saga began as a Visual Novel titled “Fate Stay Night”, since then it began to have an infinite number of sequels, spin-offs, and adaptations. To this day, projects for the Fate saga continue to be created. One of the most famous titles of this great saga is: “Fate Stay/Night, Fate Grand Order, Fate Hollow, Fate Zero, Fate Prototype”. Some of these titles have anime adaptations, each one with different animation studios; mainly the study Ufotable with its incredible animations. The characters are of very high quality, respectively having their waifus and husbandos for everyone; with a lot of personality diversity for every taste.
The order of Fate is highly debated, with some suggesting watching the saga in chronological order; while others suggest watching the saga in release order. Both options have their pros and cons; but here I will say in the order that I saw it, and in turn I suggest.
Order to see them
The order that I am going to recommend is chronological order; Since, in this order we understand a little more about the rules of the Holy Grail War, the origins of each character and their goals. It should be emphasized that not all different versions of Fate are canon; There are only a few and I will be specifying it in each one.
- FATE/ZERO (canon)
- FATE STAY NIGHT 2006 (canon – 1st route)
- FATE STAY NIGHT: UNLIMITED BLADEWORKS (canon – 2nd route)
- FATE STAY NIGHT: HEAVEN'S FEEL (canon – 3rd route)
After these 4 routes/series nothing is canon anymore, they would all be spinoffs or different routes with different characters. Taking this into consideration, the order in which you watch them doesn't matter much, as all the stories are different from each other. I will also leave an order in which I saw it, but you can see it in the order you want.

Synopsis of Fate/Zero, first anime of the Fate Series
The following synopsis will be FATE/ZERO which is the first anime that in my opinion you should watch. This way, they will have an idea of what they can see in the other titles.
“With the promise to grant any wish, the omnipotent Holy Grail unleashed three wars in the past, each of them too cruel and ferocious to leave a victor. Despite that, the rich family Einzbern trust that the Fourth Holy Grail War will be different; that is, with a vessel of the Holy Grail now in his hands. For this reason alone, the Einzbern hire the hated "mage killer" Kiritsugu Emiya, with the marriage to his only daughter Irisviel as a binding contract.
Kiritsugu now finds himself at the center of a ruthless game of survival, facing off against six other contestants, each armed with an ancient familiar and fueled by unique desires and ideals. Opinion and Review of Fate Series
The Fate series can be very tedious at the beginning, but believe me, it is an incredible anime. After watching the first and second titles you realize that it has a very interesting story with incredible characters and the animation is perfect (excluding Fate Stay Night 2006). I think it is very important to see Fate Stay Night 2006, since it has an important route. That said, there are many people who don't watch it because of the animation it has, since you can see that it is not of high quality. But, if you manage to see this route, the others will be incredible for you, and you will always feel on the verge of excitement. I really recommend giving it a chance, it is an anime full of action and emotions that will keep you on the edge of your seat. 10/10 totally recommended.
