«To Me, The One Who Loved You» and «To Every You That I've Loved Before» are two films that were released on October 7, 2022. These two films were famous at the time since the ending of the plot changes depending on which movie you watched first. Everything is based on the characters' point of view.
This was the first movie I saw between the two, so I know how difficult it is to understand the plot if you've only seen this movie. Here I will explain what happened in the movie. This blog will have spoilers for both films since to understand this one you must explain a little about what happens in the other film.

What happened in this movie?
First let's declare that world1 will be the world where the movie began, while world2 will be where Koyomi married her assistant Kazune. The same thing I did in the previous blog so you don't get confused.
This is world2 where Koyomi lives with her mother and her grandfather dies. The biggest change is that he was with Kazune from the beginning instead of Shiori.
After many years and at his school, Kazune came to Koyomi telling him that the two of them were dating and that he owed her an apology. Koyomi hearing this for the first time is surprised. Kazune, realizing that Koyomi was lost in the clouds, goes to karaoke to talk about what happened. Kazune looks at his watch and realizes that the world they are in has changed; 85 points away from her original where she and Koyomi are dating.
After an argument they decided not to talk or greet each other at school.
At school…
Koyomi was desperate to know if the Kazune of his world had returned or not. Losing his patience, Koyomi went and spoke to Kazune, but she simply ignored him. Then Koyomi puts a note in Kazune's locker so that everything can be clarified again at the karaoke, which she attended. Koyomi assumes that the Kazune of her world has returned, and asks her to be his friend since he has none. At that moment, Kazune bursts out laughing, admitting that the whole thing about changing worlds was a LIE and was just an act. Koyomi is clearly speechless.
Koyomi asks him the reason for his lie, Kazune tells him that he wanted revenge for a speech that he was able to give only because Koyomi gave up the position (we can see that she is quite competitive). Here Koyomi proposes to Kazune, in which she rejects him by saying that she would go out with him when he was more trustworthy. Kazune leaves telling them to continue not talking at school, although with that she went to talk to Koyomi first anyway.
From this point…
Koyomi and Kazune become closer, while Koyomi gives up on being accepted by Kazune after multiple rejections. After a while, Kazune herself asks Koyomi to go out with her, in which Koyomi is very surprised. While this was happening, these two managed to make an improvement to the IP device, which was a great event. (It is the device that lets you see what world you are in).
Years later, Koyomi proposes to Kazune, giving him an aquamarine ring. Kazune accepts. Shortly afterward they get married and have a son named Ryou.
One day Koyomi, Kazune and Ryou go on a trip, where a tragedy occurs. A crazy man with a knife starts attacking innocent people, the same man who ran towards Ryou and kills him. Seconds later, we can see Ryou sleeping peacefully in his bed while Koyomi and Kazune discuss what happened and how they were very lucky that the man was arrested.
This is where everything gets a little more confusing and interesting than it already is. How did Ryou come back to life? Well… he didn't. Only the moment in which Ryou was killed was in another world, where we will call it worldX. In this world, world2, the man went towards Ryou but was pushed away by Koyomi and then stopped by the authorities.
After that incident, while the family was just living their normal lives. Koyomi notices that Kazune is acting strangely without leaving Ryou on his side. Eventually, Koyomi realizes that the Kazune of this moment was in fact the Kazune of WorldX. She voluntarily changed worlds so she could go to a world where Ryou was still alive. Apparently, they realize that this Kazune was 13 worlds away from their original world.
Koyomi confronts Kazune…
When Koyomi confronts the Kazune of WorldX, she refuses to return and leave Ryou again. Although, eventually she would understand and agree to return to her original world, worldX.
When Kazune from worldX returns to worldX, the Kazune from this world, world2, returns as well. But she wasn't exactly the original. She was the closest to the original. This happened because when the Kazune of world
After all this, Koyomi's family progresses over time, and they eventually get a granddaughter and live happily together. But, during this time, Koyomi falls ill.
The dots connect…
One day, while Koyomi was sleeping, the Kazune of world 1 (who we saw in the previous blog movie) changes to this world, world2. The reason for this was to be able to explain the events of world 1 to the Kazune of world 2.
That Koyomi from world 1 when he was 60 years old made a change in time to world 2 at the age of 7 years old. This so that world 2 would progress so that Koyomi would never meet Shiori and never cause the accident. Kazune of world1 writes a note while in world2 so that Kazune of world2 can read it; and in turn she sets an alarm on Koyomi's watch to remind him to meet someone at the intersection.
Kazune of world2 reads the letter from Kazune of world1 and follows it, although a little saddened by the events. On the set date, Koyomi gets a notification and Kazune urges her to go to the crossing. While Koyomi visits the crossing, he meets an old woman, who we all assume is Shiori from lines she said at that time.
Koyomi and the woman talk about happiness, and they each say goodbye and go their separate ways. Koyomi then realizes that no one was found at the intersection, not knowing that the person he was supposed to meet was the woman he had already met.
After this, Koyomi returns home and appreciates the fact that he was able to know and love the Kazune of this world, and the Kazune of all the other worlds that he has loved. He was also grateful to all the Koyomi who fell in love with someone else so that he could fall in love with Kazune from this world.
Personal opinion…
As you can see, this movie has many more details to explain and many points where you don't know what could happen. I think if you want a little more drama, this movie is definitely better than the other. Since, as I said before, the other one is quite linear, while this one takes some pretty crazy directions.

When I saw this movie I needed some explanations, since the way in which the movie "explains" the events was not entirely clear to me. So for this reason, I wanted to make this blog to also give an explanation to those who may not have understood.
My recommendation is to watch these movies to be able to understand everything 100%, and also because they are two very good movies. But if you ask me which one you should watch first, I definitely recommend watching this one first.
