Tokyo Ghoul Official Concepts and Ranking
In universe of Tokyo Ghoul You can examine the strength of the characters from two different perspectives: the ghoul and the human. Ghouls have an assigned rank that measures their strength, and humans (investigators) have positions within the agency, so it's another way to know their combat strength.
Ghoul Types:
First of all, highlight that ghouls can differ in four types according to their RC cells, and these are:
- Ukaku: Fast and expert in ranged combat, although their stamina is the shortest among the four.
- Koukaku: They are very slow but without a doubt they have the greatest resistance and their kagunes the greatest toughness.
- Rinkaku: They have great regeneration and the greatest offensive strength, although their kagune is relatively fragile.
- Bikaku: They have no notable strengths, but neither do they have weaknesses.
CGG Ghoul Investigators Ranks:
- Rank 3: People who enter training without having trained at the Academy.
- Rank 2: Rookies who passed the Academy training.
- Rank 1: Investigators quite capable of combat.
- First class: Investigators with a lot of combat experience and the supervisors of the lower ranks. This is usually the range at which the vast majority of professionals retire.
- Associate Special Class: Very few researchers hold this title. They have the authority to command operations and supervise individual districts as necessary.
- Special class: Unique combatants, with a title that almost no one has, and who command all operations.
Ghoul Classification:
- c: They are ghouls with a little more strength than an average human.
- b: Equivalent to Junior Investigators (from rank 3 to 1).
- TO: Capable of facing a First Class Investigator on equal terms.
- Yes: They have combat power similar to that of an Associate Special Class Investigator.
- S+: They are ghouls that have enough skill to stand up to a Special Class Investigator.
- H.H: It takes several Special Class Investigators to stop a ghoul of this level.
- SSS: There is no clear protocol.
Other important terms:
RC cells: Microscopic organisms that both ghouls and humans possess and whose function is to provide the body with physical abilities. Ghouls possess much more than humans.
Kagune: It is the weapon that ghouls form from their back, thanks to their RC cells.
Kakuja: Ghouls who practice cannibalism and as a result develop much stronger RC cells with which they can cover their entire body in the form of armor.
One-Eyed Ghoul: Hybrid between human and ghoul, who are supposedly more powerful than normal ghouls.
