Daily Anime and Personal Growth Message – Aug 22, 2023

You are an immature kid.

Exactly like Nana Hachiko at the beginning of the play.

I was recently re-reading Nana. A fantastic manga about maturity and the evolution of social relationships as you grow up.

It is an anime / manga that seems quite comical because we see the entire story through the eyes of Nana Hachiko, a 20-year-old Japanese student who decides to move from the village to the city to start her life independent of her parents.

Nana Hachiko's problem when moving to Tokyo on her own is not that she doesn't cook, or that she doesn't know how to find a job, or take the train... Nana Hachiko's problem is much more serious than that, and we have all experienced it:

Hachiko doesn't know how to think about others.

She is an extremely nice and kind person. But she is kind, treating others as she would like to be treated. He had never stopped to think that each person is different, and that perhaps not everyone is comfortable or happy when you treat them as you would treat yourself.

Having healthy social relationships goes much further than that: you need to understand each person and treat them in a way that makes them comfortable. Not from your perspective, but from the other person's perspective.

I would have loved to write about Nana and the maturity of relationships in my book How You Think About Anime, This Is Your Life (https://www.amazon.com/Como-Piensas-Del-Anime-Vida/dp/B0C9S8SK5R), but not when I had already written half a chapter did I realize that social relationships will never work if you are not comfortable with yourself.

That is why this first book is dedicated to you, and is made up of 7 chapters dedicated to your personal development.

In a later book we can talk about social relationships, money, and other secondary topics. But for now the important thing is you.

Have a nice day.
