Jean-Paul Sartre said that if you feel lonely when you are alone, you are in bad company. This couldn't be more true.

If there is something important in life, it is knowing how to be comfortable with yourself.. Because you are the only person you will never be able to get rid of. So you better spend enough time getting to know yourself, and loving yourself just the way you are, or even understanding how you would love yourself more, and work for it.

The thing is to be good with yourself.

In fact, if you think you don't need to stop and reflect on this, or if you think you have a better time in company, or are more comfortable: you really need to think about yourself and spend a lot more time alone.

From my point of view, most relationships (love and social) are very poorly planned because they are almost unconsciously "used" to have someone who complements you, or who helps you be 100% happy. No one should need to be with another person to feel comfortable. When you look for a partner it has to be to share your happiness with him/her, but not to keep it afloat.

Close your eyes for a while, lie down on the bed, on the couch, etc... and spend fifteen minutes thinking about yourself, in what you want to achieve, and in everything you are going to take advantage of to do in the moments when you are alone. Because as Nana says: being alone is nothing like being alone.
