Players who immediately look for tricks in the position and fight for victory in any situation.
They usually don't get an advantage in the first moves and sometimes they are even the ones at a disadvantage, but they are smart and know how to fight. Nerves of steel and great calculation are your basis for finding winning resources and creating an advantageous environment in your game.

Emanuel Lasker (1868 – 1941), the second world champion, was one of the most successful “Surgeons” of chess.
He remained world champion for 27 years (a record) and his style of play was quite mysterious to players of his time.
He is described as a “psychological” player who confused his rivals, although in fact he was simply superior to his contemporaries in understanding chess.
Lasker understood how to create counterplay, how to change the course of the game when one part of the board was weak, and how to use the advantages he gained from position.
His end-game technique, notably defensive, was the key with which he won many of his games.
