Attack on Titan says goodbye to its fans

First of all I want to mention that this blog will most likely have spoilers for Attack on Titan, so read on with caution.

On November 5, the last chapter of the animated series Attack on Titan premiered and there are many emotions that need to be covered. Many fans are happy and sad about the ending, while others are angry about its conclusion. After 10 years of being broadcast, Attack on Titan undoubtedly lives in the hearts of many fans and will continue to do so for such a masterpiece that it is. Without a doubt, it is an anime that everyone should give a chance and enjoy to the fullest.

Last Chapter of Attack on Titan

My opinion on the last chapter of Attack on Titan

I must say that, although I am not a big fan of the ending it had, it makes all the sense in the world and there is no better ending than this. We can see how Eren truly had no choice but to do what he had to do, and even making all the sacrifice that peace made would never be something that Paradis will be able to fully experience.

Attack on Titan was never a happy anime, we can realize from the first chapter that the series will give us very difficult events to overcome and the ending is no exception. Just seeing a new person arrive at the same tree that Ymir entered so that the curse of the titans began gives a feeling of helplessness. It makes us think that everything will happen again and the sacrifice Eren made was for nothing, but that was not Eren's goal. What he wanted to accomplish was to give peace to his loved ones.

The last chapter is undoubtedly one of the most important and impressive, since it answers many of the questions we had about the series and the reason for Eren's actions. It's ironic to think that part of what drove Eren to act (apart from his loved ones) was freedom, but in the end he became a slave to his own ideals. A curious fact is that the anime never reaches chapter 140 since it ends at 139. In Japan 140 is related to freedom, being a symbolism of how Eren never became free.
